Oconomowoc, WI – Mike Williams, Chairman of the Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee (ESGR), has announced Jamie Schindel, Machine Shop Supervisor of MetalTek International, was presented with a Patriot Award by ESGR representative Bill Rheingans, Area 2 Chair in recognition of extraordinary support of one of their employees serving in the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

The presentation took take place at MetalTek International, 905 E St Paul Ave, Waukesha WI, at 3:30 pm on January 24th, 2018.

According to Rheingans, “Jamie Schindel was nominated for this prestigious national award by their employee Daniel Voegeli who is a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard and assigned to the 128th ANG/LRS unit.  TSgt Voegeli is currently deployed and was unable to attend this event.

The Patriot Award is only presented to employers who not only hire Guard and Reserve members but demonstrate superior support to the military employee and his/her family.  The National Guard and Reserve Forces are the cornerstone of our national defense.  Jamie Schindel provided outstanding support and cooperation and has exhibited a patriotic spirit which is reflected in the significance of being a recipient of the Patriot Award.”

Eric Skibo, General Manager of MetalTek International’s Wisconsin Centrifugal Division, added “Thank you to the ESGR for the great work in recognizing and supporting our National Guard and Reserve and for recognizing those employers who support the great men and women who serve our nation. I would also like to thank and congratulate Jaime Schindel for being awarded the Patriot Award for his support of teammate Daniel Voegeli on his return to the National Guard.  As an organization, we take tremendous pride in supporting  our military with the products we produce and by employing and supporting these individuals who are serving to protect this great nation.  Thanks again Jaime for your outstanding support.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense program, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies, resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members, and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD.
