Aerospace & Defense Market - General Overview

Posted by Dave Olsen on 7/10/20 1:53 PM

Blue Chip companies in the aerospace and defense markets rely on MetalTek International for their metal casting needs. Your market demands perfection and MetalTek not only has the required certifications, but our Sales Engineers are industry specialists that understand your market. But even beyond our capabilities of what we can produce, MetalTek partners with you to make your products and businesses better. We only succeed when you are successful.

AEROSPACE MARKET:

An integrated manufacturing process that includes centrifugal, investment, sand, and continuous casting, along with machining lets customers in the aerospace market know they are working with metals experts.

This approach allows the engineering and supply of net shaped product, providing the intricacy of investment casting with the integrity of centrifugal casting. Near net shaped components can be produced to provide large O.D. features that minimize post processing in nearly any quantity.

Bearium Metals' products are on the NASA launch pad and on Mars! Our Sales and Engineering teams dedicated to the Aerospace market ensure that you get the attention, expertise, and performance that you deserve. Bearium is often the basis design where regular lubrication is difficult or impossible. It has shown the same long life and superior performance in cryogenic environments as well.

From mandrels and forming dies to critical components for rocket engines, allow MetalTek to serve you and your metal needs.

Petrochemical Rapid Shutdowns: MetalTek’s Rapid Response Team Again Rises to the Challenge

Posted by Dale Freihoff on 5/27/20 8:51 AM

While planned shutdowns are regular occurrences in the life cycle of a petrochemical plant, not all shutdowns are planned. Furnaces can experience unplanned shutdowns. These events are often referred to simply as “shutdowns” but can also be referred to as a “rapid shutdown” (RSD) or “emergency shutdown.”

In the event of a rapid shutdown, a plant owner or operator needs a rapid response from a metal casting supplier. Over a recent long holiday weekend, the team at MetalTek’s Carondelet Division in Pevely, MO once again demonstrated that they have what it takes to be a rapid-response partner for the petrochem industry.

Petrochemical Rapid Shutdowns: How to Choose a Rapid Response Metal Casting Supplier

Posted by Dale Freihoff on 5/8/20 8:00 AM

Planned turnarounds are regular occurrences in the life cycle of a petrochemical plant. Every few years, a plant will go offline for a few weeks to upgrade capital equipment, perform regular maintenance, or improve worker safety – all activities that cannot take place while a plant is operational. When properly executed, a planned turnaround limits the downtime and lost revenue of the plant in the short term, while increasing the long-term profitability of operations.

Unfortunately, not all shutdowns are planned. Sometimes furnaces experience an unplanned shutdown, for a variety of reasons.

These unplanned events are often referred to simply as shutdowns but can also be referred to as rapid shutdowns (RSD) or emergency shutdowns.
